Senior Application Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, with up to 10% travel as needed. Not available to candidates residing in Delaware, Hawaii, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, or other US territories.

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus target.

What you will do

• Advise on secure product and architecture design across development, quality assurance, support, and IT systems.
• Perform architecture security reviews, security-focused code reviews, and security testing.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to implement security functionality, write secure code, and verify threat models, risks, and security posture.
• Monitor software usage and conduct forensics to verify compliance with security standards.
• Track developments in web and client application security and provide guidance on emerging standards and best practices.
• Communicate technical security concepts to senior management and participate in software development lifecycle meetings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Information Security and/or Software Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of secure application programming, software development lifecycles, security architecture, authentication protocols, operating systems, and hosting environments.
• Experience conducting threat assessments, evaluating risk, and building risk-based security processes.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM security risks, including prompt injection, model poisoning, data exfiltration, and responsible AI/ML data handling.
• Working knowledge of reverse engineering, data storage formats, programming languages, software architecture, and network architecture.
• Completion of the required technical challenge is part of the application process.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Security.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, PNPT, OSWE, GWAPT, OSED, or OSCP.
