Location: Remote, based in Mexico City, Mexico
Salary: 30,000–33,000 MXN gross per month

is an outsourcing art studio supporting GameSim, a Keywords Studio game development studio that creates PC and console games for clients.
What you will do
- Create and polish real-time lighting for gameplay environments, levels, cinematics, characters, and interactive sequences.
- Translate art direction, gameplay requirements, narrative goals, references, and client feedback into lighting solutions.
- Use lighting to establish mood, atmosphere, visual hierarchy, player focus, navigation, and gameplay readability.
- Work with Art Direction, Environment Art, Technical Art, VFX, Design, Engineering, Production, clients, and partner studios.
- Review lighting work, provide actionable feedback, coordinate assigned scenes or milestones, and support less-experienced artists.
- Profile and optimize lighting for target platforms, scalability levels, hardware targets, and production requirements.
Requirements
- Professional experience creating lighting for games, real-time projects, animation, visualization, or a related field.
- Portfolio or reel demonstrating strong real-time lighting, composition, mood, color, atmosphere, readability, and scene cohesion.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or another modern real-time engine, including dynamic or baked lighting, global illumination, reflections, volumetrics, exposure, color grading, and post-processing.
- Understanding of physically based rendering, material response, lighting optimization, performance constraints, and production pipelines.
- Ability to own scenes through review and completion, interpret feedback, communicate risks, and collaborate across game-development disciplines.
- English proficiency: B2 or higher; CV must be submitted in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with Unreal Engine systems such as Lumen, Nanite, Virtual Shadow Maps, volumetric fog, reflection systems, and scalability settings.
- Shipped PC or console title experience and experience in co-development, outsourcing, consulting, or work-for-hire production.
- Experience coordinating lighting work, reviewing artists, guiding junior artists, or owning a level, environment, sequence, or gameplay feature.
- Experience with dynamic time-of-day, weather, destructible environments, cinematics, characters, or scripted sequences.
