AI Intern

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. Full-time summer 2027 internship; willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI is required.

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Design, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning and AI models on GPU servers, cloud platforms, and edge devices.
• Process structured and unstructured data, including imagery and sensor data, and develop cloud-to-edge data pipelines.
• Integrate AI and machine learning models into applications, embedded systems, ECUs, and vehicle platforms.
• Develop and test software supporting vehicle intelligence, connectivity, automation, and advanced vehicle features.
• Use simulation environments and testing frameworks to validate algorithms, models, and system functionality.
• Participate in experiments, benchmarking, code reviews, system architecture work, documentation, and software integration activities.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Coursework or experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, embedded systems, software development, or statistics.
• Programming experience with Python, C++, or another relevant programming or scripting language.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and interest in applying AI and software to real-world engineering challenges.
• Willingness to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the summer internship.

Nice to have

• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn; computer vision; image processing; or GPU/NPU computing.
• Exposure to edge AI, model optimization, embedded software, vehicle communication technologies such as CAN, AUTOSAR, or automotive software architectures.
• Experience with vehicle connectivity, software-defined vehicle concepts, cloud-to-edge architectures, simulation, testing, or automated validation frameworks.
