What you will do
- Collect, clean, normalize, and sanitize large-scale chip design datasets from diverse sources.
- Build and maintain Python scripts and pipelines for automated data extraction and transformation.
- Parse JSON, CSV, Parquet, logs, and domain-specific EDA file formats.
- Navigate complex codebases and directory structures to locate and extract relevant data.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data using SQL and Python tooling.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to deliver model-ready datasets and document data sources, transformations, and dataset versions.
Requirements
- Advanced BSc student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Good Python skills with practical experience using pandas and NumPy for data manipulation.
- Solid SQL skills and experience working with structured and semi-structured data.
- Experience cleaning, normalizing, and sanitizing real-world data.
- Ability to navigate codebases and filesystems, parse multiple file formats, and automate repetitive extraction tasks.
- Git fluency, including reading commit history, reviewing diffs, and working with versioned repositories.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Airflow, dbt, Spark, or other data pipeline tools.
- Basic understanding of machine learning features and train/test leakage.
- Curiosity about reverse-engineering undocumented data and discovering relationships across datasets.
