Algorithm Team Lead - Optimization (AI)

What you will do

• Lead data scientists and data engineers building scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Design and maintain distributed batch and streaming data-processing workflows.
• Own and evolve the data architecture in alignment with product and business goals.
• Establish best practices for data quality, validation, testing, and observability.
• Guide architecture decisions, sprint planning, task breakdown, code reviews, and deployments of mission-critical systems.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing data science engineering team while contributing hands-on to key technical work.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist and in designing large-scale data platforms handling hundreds of terabytes.
• 3+ years of experience leading and managing data engineers, including required people management.
• 4+ years of data science experience with strong Python, advanced SQL, and data modeling skills.
• Expertise with Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster; cloud experience with GCP preferred, or AWS/Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker and strong communication, mentorship, and collaboration skills.
• BSc or MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, ML pipelines, or data science teams.
• Knowledge of data contracts, lineage, versioning, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience optimizing pipelines and databases for performance and cost.
• CI/CD experience with GitHub or GitLab and distributed frameworks such as Apache Beam or Spark.
• Exposure to airline, pricing, or GDS systems.
