Software Engineer

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand; office-based hybrid work with three days per week in the Christchurch office

What you will do

• Design moderately complex software applications, components, user interfaces, and system interfaces.
• Create design views addressing functional, non-functional, stakeholder, and security requirements.
• Code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor software programs and scripts.
• Apply engineering standards, development tools, design patterns, and security measures.
• Monitor development progress, identify issues, and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate releases, participate in quality assurance, and report outcomes to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 4+ years of experience in relevant software engineering roles.
• Experience with Python and C++.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, customers, partners, and cross-functional teams while understanding user needs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, security, privacy, and ethical practice skills.
