Stitcher Operator (Print Manufacturing)

Location: West Bend, Wisconsin, United States; onsite production role

Salary: $22.00–$32.78 per hour, plus a $2 per hour third-shift premium and possible overtime

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate auxiliary binding machines and other bindery equipment.
• Operate automated adhesive binding machines used to produce books, magazines, and catalogs.
• Coordinate multiple machine stations, including vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, delivery, and stacking.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and maintain accurate operating conditions.
• Monitor quality, output, and productivity while directing the production crew.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of binding, folding, collating, cutting, and printed-material finishing equipment.
• Knowledge of how paper weights, sizes, types, colors, moisture, and curling affect machine operation.
• Ability to use standard, specialized, and manufacturer-provided tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Experience making difficult adjustments to powered machines using hand tools.
• Ability to operate folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, and binding or gluing machines.
• Ability to read work instructions and maintain dimensional accuracy.

• Full-time employment with first- and third-shift schedules.
• First shift: 5:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Thursday, with overtime every other Friday.
• Third shift: 7:00 PM–5:00 AM, Monday–Thursday, with overtime every other Friday.
