Shorts Production Intern (Social Media)

Location: Burbank, California, with regular travel throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Primarily field-based, with some administrative work at the Burbank studio. Reliable personal transportation is required.

Changing Lives Productions is the in-house video production company of hirify.global, creating scripted and real-life positive content for global social media audiences.

What you will do

• Travel independently throughout the greater Los Angeles area to film short-form social content.
• Work as a one-person field production team, handling basic camera, audio, and production needs.
• Approach and interview strangers in public locations for social experiments, heartfelt messages, acts of kindness, giveaways, and real-life stories.
• Ask thoughtful follow-up questions and identify compelling stories in real time.
• Capture clean vertical footage and audio while considering the story the final edit should tell.
• Obtain participant releases, organize production materials, and communicate progress and field challenges to producers and the Shorts team.

Requirements

• Basic proficiency operating a camera and recording clean audio independently.
• Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills, with confidence approaching complete strangers.
• Emotional intelligence and sensitivity when working with people experiencing grief, illness, hardship, or family difficulties.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems in the field, and make creative decisions without constant supervision.
• Understanding of social media and engaging real-life short-form content.
• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and ability to travel throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

Nice to have

• Experience in video production, journalism, documentary filmmaking, social media content, interviewing, or a related field.
