Program Manager (Construction)

Location: Richmond, Virginia; the role supports the Los Angeles, California market.

Salary: $170,537.75–$194,900.29 per year

What you will do

• Manage Program Managers and project planners across complex construction programs.
• Oversee scope, engineering and construction planning, schedules, budgets, funding allocations, bidding strategy, and program closeout.
• Review project design and construction budgets, schedules, costs, and authorized scope requirements.
• Develop funding strategies involving state matching grants, private grants, appropriations, and nonprofit partners.
• Resolve cost overruns through value engineering and manage change-order negotiations.
• Present executive reports, oversee stakeholder and community communications, manage lessons learned, and develop staff training.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of full-time professional experience managing and administering programs and projects.
• At least 6 years of experience managing programs in a public or educational agency.
• Experience coordinating complex activities, including scope development, planning and design, budgets, funding allocation, and closeout.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, preferably in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management; equivalent experience may substitute year for year.
• Experience managing multiple education or public agency programs concurrently is preferred.
