TL;DR
Senior CAD Application Engineer (NX/Python): Developing mechanical CAD workflows and software tooling that transform Siemens NX and Teamcenter data for engineering analysis, control systems, and scientific software with an accent on mechanical design, automation, and CAD standards. Focus on integrating NXOpen and Python tools, extracting parametric geometry and model data, and supporting coordinate transformations, GD&T, and analysis workflows.
Location: Remote within the United States; role based in Devens, Massachusetts
Salary: $110,000–$185,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do
- Deliver complete mechanical designs, including tolerance stacks, coordinate CTE and structural analysis, and assembly procedures.
- Develop CAD workflows that convert Siemens NX parametric geometry into formats for engineering teams, analysis algorithms, and control systems.
- Build Python automation tools that enable users to interact with NX data.
- Integrate NX model parameters, coordinate systems, and geometry into existing scientific software tooling.
- Use NXOpen API tooling to support coordinate transformations and access to a single source of truth.
- Ensure CAD designs and documentation comply with internal and industry standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM-related field.
- 10+ years of industry experience, including at least 5 years designing mechanical, electromechanical, or thermomechanical systems.
- 10+ years of experience applying Siemens NX and Teamcenter, plus experience with engineering release workflows and PLM tools.
- Experience extracting NX and Teamcenter data through software automation and programming with Python, NXOpen API, Linux, Git, and computational geometry.
- Experience with GD&T and ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Ability to work remotely within the United States and comply with U.S. export control laws for controlled technologies or information.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in engineering or a STEM-related field.
- Experience with rigid body kinematics, thermal analysis, or finite element analysis.
- Experience commercializing new technology.
