Senior Software Systems Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Salary: $153,200–$234,100 per year, plus incentive pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and implement an evaluation process for the release of an end-to-end machine learning stack for autonomous vehicles.
• Build infrastructure and ELT tooling to assess AV performance using simulation and on-road data.
• Identify performance metrics and maintain scalable processes for monitoring evaluation KPIs.
• Develop automated triage strategies for deficiencies in end-to-end AV systems and present findings to stakeholders.
• Analyze AV performance and communicate insights, summaries, and recommendations to developers and executives.
• Connect continuous evaluation improvements with the product safety case and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience with high-quality software development using AI tools and with ELT pipelines for product quality analysis.
• Analytical and systems engineering experience with complex systems, ambiguous AI functions, and complex software/hardware root cause analysis.
• Experience with GitHub, Jira, or equivalent tools, plus behavioral analysis methods.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicles, production-grade robotics, or AV/ADAS systems.
• Experience with statistical methods for product evaluation and risk assessment.
• Experience developing data-driven metrics.
