Full Stack Engineer (PHP)

Location: United Kingdom; Workplace: Hybrid

Build and scale core systems and internal tools that power a product ecosystem for global users.

What you will do

• Build and maintain resilient PHP backend services with clear domain boundaries, including billing and application management systems.
• Develop responsive, accessible frontend interfaces with React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Implement E2E automated tests, logging, retries, and failure-recovery mechanisms to improve production reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Revenue Operations, CRM, Business Analysis, and Support teams to turn business needs into technical solutions.
• Modernize legacy components, improve code quality, and evaluate engineering tools and frameworks.
• Debug production issues, manage SQL schemas, and maintain Git and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong PHP backend development skills and experience with large-scale production codebases.
• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge, including REST API design, implementation, and system integrations.
• Practical experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, automated testing, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Exposure to payment gateways such as Stripe and subscription lifecycle management.
• Experience refactoring legacy systems or working with high-volume, data-intensive applications.
