TL;DR
Inventory Specialist (Warehouse Operations): Managing materials, parts, inventory records, and job cost data for prefabrication and field construction activities with an accent on inventory accuracy, procurement support, and material availability. Focus on conducting audits and cycle counts, coordinating vendors and shipping, and improving warehouse efficiency across critical power infrastructure projects.

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, or project/shop-based as applicable. Minimal local travel is required. The role involves work in warehouse, shop, yard, and outdoor environments.

What you will do

  • Order, receive, inspect, stock, store, issue, and distribute materials and parts.
  • Maintain inventory records and enter inventory transactions and daily job cost data into company systems.
  • Conduct inventory counts, audits, reconciliations, and cycle counts.
  • Support prefabrication operations, field construction teams, and project leaders with material availability.
  • Coordinate purchasing support, vendor quotations, material sourcing, shipping, and receiving documentation.
  • Maintain product documentation, vendor relationships, warehouse organization, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a parts room, warehouse, inventory management role, or inventory tracking system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience ordering, receiving, stocking, storing, tracking, and issuing inventory items.
  • Experience maintaining inventory records and using inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong customer service, attention to detail, organizational, communication, and independent work skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical material-handling activities.
  • Experience with purchasing, vendors, shipping and receiving, construction, utility, industrial, warehouse, electrical, or prefabrication environments is preferred. A CDL is preferred but not required.
