Software Engineer (Network Development)

Location: Manchester or Leeds, UK. Hybrid working requires at least two days per week or 40% of working time in the office.

Salary: £36,224–£38,130 per year

What you will do

• Support the development of network services and research industry trends for platform improvements.
• Monitor network platforms, analyse trends, identify issues, and support troubleshooting with engineering and operations teams.
• Build practical skills in network engineering, automation, and modern infrastructure practices.
• Contribute to automation initiatives, platform performance improvements, and the evolution of network service delivery.

Requirements

• Passion for technology, curiosity, and willingness to learn and develop.
• Interest in networking, automation, and modern engineering practices.
• Basic awareness of APIs, scripting, private cloud technologies, or related tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, confidence working with data, and a collaborative approach.
• Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and observability, with the ability to work within enterprise standards and controls.

Nice to have

• Exposure to technology, networking, infrastructure, or IT through education, work experience, or personal projects.
• Understanding of how systems, applications, and digital services work together.
• Awareness of software, infrastructure, or engineering lifecycles.
