Statistician – Development Finance (Data Analysis)

Salary: From EUR 5,279.34 per month, plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt from French income tax.

What you will do

• Prepare accurate statistics, reports, presentations, working papers and web products on development finance.
• Contribute to methodological work on development finance statistics, including official development assistance eligibility assessments.
• Develop automated data management, exchange, validation and public-access frameworks for large datasets.
• Produce and maintain development finance datasets and improve their presentation through graphs, tables, maps, dashboards and other visualisation tools.
• Support meetings, workshops, capacity-building events and communication activities related to official development assistance reporting.
• Contribute to joint projects and data analysis for the Development Assistance Committee review.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data science or a related discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience working with large datasets in a national or multilateral institution.
• Understanding of development finance and the recording of international financial flows.
• Strong skills in data handling, validation and quantitative analysis, with careful preparation of publication materials.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with database software; knowledge of R or Python is advantageous.
• Proficiency with data visualisation software such as Flourish, and fluency in one hirify.global official language with good knowledge of the other: English or French.

Nice to have

• Experience with development finance datasets.
• Knowledge of additional statistical, programming or online data visualisation tools.
• Good knowledge of Spanish or another language.
