Manufacturing Equipment Engineer 1 (PLC)

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements for smart manufacturing equipment.
• Support optical, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fluidics systems in a high-volume consumables production environment.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, maintain equipment work instructions, and identify automation opportunities.
• Investigate equipment incidents, prepare formal reports, and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Support production targets and shift KPIs by coordinating and prioritizing maintenance activities.
• Guide, mentor, and train Technicians in PLC troubleshooting, automation equipment, maintenance processes, and safety practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering with 0–2 years of relevant manufacturing or production experience.
• Diploma holders may be considered with at least 6 years of relevant experience; NTC/NiTEC candidates may be considered with at least 9 years of shift lead experience.
• Experience in GMP-controlled manufacturing or production environments and compliance with cGMP, quality, and safety requirements.
• Advanced understanding of electrical, electronics, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, plus PLC troubleshooting experience with Beckhoff or Allen Bradley PLCs.
• For Shift Engineer roles, willingness to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts is required.
• Ability to work in noisy and chemical environments with PPE, distinguish component and chemical colors, and safely handle loads up to 15 kg.

Nice to have

• Experience with data analytics, predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, failure prediction, or reliability analysis.
• Knowledge of agentic AI, intelligent automation, or AI-driven manufacturing optimization.
• Familiarity with SPC, Python, Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, Streamlit, Angular, or NestJS.
