Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java, Node.js, or PHP)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain front-end and back-end features, including user interfaces, REST API integrations, server-side logic, databases, and proxy services.
• Monitor, test, and optimise Web GIS applications for performance, availability, scalability, accessibility, browser compatibility, and limited-bandwidth use.
• Review existing architecture and design scalable components and building blocks that improve user experience.
• Transform scientific and geospatial data from XLS and TIFF sources into JSON, GeoJSON, and Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF formats using automation scripts and custom software.
• Apply web application security practices, including input validation, sanitisation, XSS mitigation, OWASP Top 10 scanning, and remediation.
• Create interactive visualisations, infographics, graphical elements, publication templates, technical documentation, and tested production code.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in website development, including front-end, back-end, and web mastering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in geospatial web programming and UI/UX design.
• Experience with Git, legacy SVN systems, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Kendo UI Professional for jQuery, OpenLayers, ES3/ES5, ES6+, Webpack, and Vite.
• Proficiency in Java, Node.js, or PHP back-end development, including Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, SQLite, scripting, automation, and data transformation.
• Recognised training or certifications in IT or web application security, data science, AI engineering, digital accessibility, and UX research.
• English and Italian at B2 or higher under CEFR are required.
