Senior / Staff Process Engineer (Minerals)

What you will do

• Own the process design basis for assigned areas, including design cases, margins, turndown, utility and reagent demands, and first-principles assumptions.
• Develop PFDs, heat and material balances, and P&IDs from concept through IFC, including equipment, instrumentation, control loops, relief systems, drains, vents, utilities, and tie-ins.
• Manage process data workflows for line, instrument, and valve lists using smart drafting and modeling platforms such as Plant 3D.
• Build hydraulic models covering line sizing, pressure drop, pumps, blowers, control valves, orifices, slurry and two-phase lines, and gravity, launder, and vent flow.
• Size and specify process equipment, write control narratives, and represent process engineering in PHAs and HAZOPs.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, controls, piping, and civil-structural disciplines, then support procurement, construction, commissioning, field verification, testing, startup, and as-built closeout.

Requirements

• 8+ years of process engineering experience delivering detailed design for industrial process facilities.
• Experience in an EPC/EPCM, owner’s engineer, or in-house capital projects environment.
• Experience completing detailed engineering for at least one greenfield or major brownfield project.
• BS in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering.
• Ability to work on-site in Houston, TX.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Experience with lithium extraction, spodumene leaching, crystallization, or battery-grade products.
• Experience with copper leaching, solvent extraction, electrowinning, tankhouse, or electrolyte circuits.
• Experience with slurry and solids handling systems.
• Experience with SmartPlant P&ID, AVEVA P&ID, or Plant 3D P&ID.
