Internship (Internal Audit)

Location: Houston, TX, United States; based in the Houston office

Salary: $25.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $30.00 per hour for graduate students

What you will do

• Support internal auditors with SOX compliance and operational audit activities.
• Learn and apply the internal audit lifecycle, from planning and fieldwork through evaluating and concluding on results.
• Present or communicate audit results to cross-functional management teams.
• Use AuditBoard and Microsoft Office applications to complete audit assignments.
• Perform additional duties based on business needs and candidate interests.

Requirements

• Must be currently eligible to work in the United States under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 rules.
• Students authorized to work on F-1 or M-1 visas cannot be considered.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year undergraduate program at junior or senior standing, or pursuing an advanced degree.
• Major in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts, principles, and theories.
• Strong technical writing, communication, computer, presentation, organization, and project-management skills.

Nice to have

• Basic familiarity with SOX compliance and operational audits.
• Understanding of quality assurance regulations and standards, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
