Process Engineer I - SDF (Wash)

Location: United States; role based at the Emerging Technologies–Solid Dosage Forms facility in Durham, North Carolina. On-site work includes operating and inspecting manufacturing equipment, standing for up to 12-hour shifts, and working around noise, hazardous materials, elevated heights, and confined spaces when required.

What you will do

• Improve and develop systems and equipment for core manufacturing processes.
• Coach and mentor peers and shopfloor personnel, supporting their technical development.
• Apply cLEAN® tools to problem solving, project management, and change management.
• Lead cross-functional process improvement projects and develop performance improvement plans.
• Develop and manage project budgets and support event response activities.
• Establish and maintain procedural and maintenance standards and support improvement collaboration across OFP sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university, plus one year of relevant engineering experience; equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered.
• Relevant experience may include maintenance, design, process improvement, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical systems, mechanical systems, control systems, SCADA, and PLCs.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, including standing for up to 12 hours and handling equipment or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds.
• Ability to work around loud noise, odorous or hazardous materials, cold environments, elevated heights, and confined spaces when required.
