Senior Scientist - Imaging (MRI)

What you will do

• Execute preclinical MRI studies of mouse and rat models in collaboration with imaging scientists, therapeutic focus areas, and technology teams.
• Operate and optimize a 7T Bruker BioSpin MRI system for in vivo and ex vivo studies.
• Coordinate experimental design, imaging schedules, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and project updates with the Lead MRI Scientist.
• Perform animal handling, including anesthesia, injections, contrast-agent administration, monitoring, and tissue preparation.
• Develop and optimize MRI protocols for cardiac, brain, inner-ear, and magnetic resonance spectroscopy applications.
• Maintain project records and package MRI data and derived results for communication to the wider scientific community.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Engineering, Biophysics, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience operating in vivo rodent MRI and handling mice and rats, including anesthesia, injections, and tissue processing.
• Experience with 3D MRI visualization software such as 3D Slicer, ITK-SNAP, or ImageJ.
• Knowledge of basic MRI science and mouse and rat anatomy, with the ability to apply this knowledge to study design.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, scientific rigor, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bruker ParaVision, MRI protocol development, cardiac and respiratory gating or triggering, and MRI/MRS processing software such as VivoQuant, Amira, LCModel, FID-A, or FSL.
