Python Developer (Data Engineering)

What you will do

• Harden and extend a large production Python detection-engine codebase through refactoring, module and API design, typing, packaging, and test coverage.
• Own and optimize PySpark workflows processing large security datasets across multi-cloud environments, balancing correctness and cost.
• Design data models and SQL queries, including diagnosing and fixing slow queries.
• Work with cyber investigators to translate attacker behavior into production-ready detection logic.
• Build AI-native tooling, including agentic workflows, automated workflows, and LLM-backed services using Bedrock or vendor APIs.
• Improve engineering standards through code review, CI, architecture decisions, and technical direction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production Python experience, including typing, refactoring unfamiliar code, module and API design, pytest, packaging, and code review.
• Hands-on SQL experience designing schemas and optimizing slow queries.
• Experience using AI coding agents and shipping LLM-based products involving prompt design, structured outputs, multi-step or agentic flows, and nondeterministic behavior testing.
• Strong Git and CI skills, including independently diagnosing failed pipelines.
• Fluent English communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with ownership and collaboration.

• AWS, including S3, IAM, compute, and Bedrock.
• Workflow automation and agent platforms such as n8n, LangGraph, or Temporal.
• MCP servers, tool-calling integrations, Spark, Kafka, or a security, detection-engineering, or SIEM background.
