Health Information Specialist I (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite in Waterbury, Connecticut, United States, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

What you will do

• Serve as the front desk contact for patients requesting medical records or releases.
• Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors.
• Process Release of Information requests accurately and promptly.
• Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests.
• Burn medical images to CDs and share images electronically when required.
• Support reporting, data entry, email administration, and client relationship management while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfort working in a patient-facing front desk environment.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, professional, and able to manage confidential information.
• Ability to multitask and work independently.
