TL;DR
Solutions Architect (Data and AI): Developing data architectures, proof-of-concept solutions, and integrations for data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL workflows with an accent on distributed systems, public cloud platforms, and customer-facing technical leadership. Focus on designing complex Big Data solutions, debugging Python and SQL applications, validating third-party integrations, and promoting open-source projects including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
Location: Remote in the United States, with listed locations including Nevada, California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington; candidates in other locations may also be considered. Travel to customers in the assigned region is required.
Salary: $180,000–$247,500 USD annually, with potential annual bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Partner with sales teams to provide technical leadership and connect Databricks solutions to customer business problems.
- Design Big Data architectures and implement proof-of-concept solutions across data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL workflows.
- Validate integrations with public cloud services, internal tools, and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with customers, product teams, Solutions Architects, and broader customer-facing teams.
- Guide customers through implementation, technical best practices, and the competitive landscape while developing technical champions.
- Promote Databricks open-source projects, including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow, within the developer community.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, pre-sales, consulting, or a similar field.
- Experience building distributed data systems.
- Proficiency in programming with and debugging Python and SQL.
- Experience building solutions with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or in data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Availability to travel to customers in the assigned region.
Nice to have
- Degree in computer science, applied mathematics, operations research, or another quantitative discipline.
