Associate - Financial Sponsor Coverage (Investment Banking)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States office; employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not provided.

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 base salary annually, plus incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and prioritize workstreams with analysts, senior bankers, and coverage coordinators.
• Develop proprietary analyses of buyer behavior, deal trends, process dynamics, pitch activity, and PE market trends.
• Create marketing materials and presentations supporting private equity client meetings and origination efforts.
• Coordinate deliverables and communicate insights to vice presidents, directors, managing directors, and firm leadership.
• Own recurring reporting, internal dashboards, CRM-related work, and data integrity initiatives.
• Support special projects and gradually participate in sponsor-facing client interactions.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or related financial services.
• Knowledge of business and financial market concepts, M&A, and private capital markets.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and relevant banking platforms.
• Experience evaluating proprietary and third-party PE and M&A data.
• Strong analytical thinking, judgment, communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work from the Richmond, Virginia office; visa sponsorship and STEM OPT are not available.
