Senior Manager, Engineering (Airline Operations)

Location: Hybrid work from the Bogota office, Colombia

What you will do

• Lead more than 50 software engineers, including SRE/DevOps engineers, managers, and senior individual contributors.
• Deliver complex, safety-critical flight, baggage, ramp operations, cloud services, and kiosk systems for major Americas and global airline customers.
• Lead large-scale programs across multiple Scrum teams, products, sites, and stakeholders using Agile and SAFe practices.
• Develop engineering managers and senior contributors through performance management, career planning, succession planning, coaching, and continuous learning.
• Partner with Product Management, Solution Management, architecture, Train Product Managers, Release Train Engineers, and System Architects to improve delivery predictability and quality.
• Manage customer engagements and escalations while driving production stability, reliability, security, and operational support for mission-critical systems.

Requirements

• Strong experience leading large software engineering organizations of 30 or more people across multiple teams.
• Solid understanding of Lean-Agile practices; SAFe experience is preferred.
• Proven experience delivering complex, mission-critical, safety-sensitive systems and programs.
• Experience communicating with and influencing senior leaders and customer executives.
• Understanding of designing, building, and operating large-scale systems that run 24x7, 365 days per year.
• Great communication skills in English.
