Veterinary Technician I

Location: Onsite veterinary practices in Jacksonville, Boca Raton, Plantation, Delray Beach, Parrish, Coral Gables, or Winter Garden, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia. Weekend work may be required, and some travel may be involved.

What you will do

• Provide veterinary patient care, including blood transfusions, oxygen cage management, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Support veterinarians and practice team members by communicating patient updates clearly and maintaining consistent standards of care.
• Use integrated practice technology and serve as a super-user for the patient information management system.
• Manage pharmacy responsibilities, maintain controlled-substance logs, and support inventory planning.
• Clean workspaces after patient and laboratory sample interactions and follow standard operating procedures.
• Complete required compliance training, self-development courses, and other duties within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure preferred.
• Ability to complete the Veterinary Technician III skills checklist.
• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience in practice preferred.
• Strong client communication, compassion, verbal and written communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds, with team lifting for heavier loads.
