Patient Care Technician, PCT - Medical 4

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time schedule: 36 hours per week, nights and weekends.

Pay range: $19.77–$24.57, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct care for medical, wound care, and surgical patients, including hygiene, elimination, catheter care, vital signs, skin care, and mobility support.
• Assist with feeding and document intake, output, weight, belongings, and patient care according to procedure.
• Perform selected therapeutic procedures within the competency and skills checklist.
• Set up equipment and assist physicians and clinicians with treatments, dressings, and tests.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, document patient information, and promptly deliver results to the appropriate nurse or physician.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support departmental objectives and patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, EMT, or nursing student with clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to provide nursing support under the direction of physicians, practitioners, and registered nurses.

Nice to have

• Four years of healthcare and nursing service experience.
