Regional Director of Field Medical (Biotech)

Location: Remote, associated with Woburn, United States

Salary: $256,000–$331,000 annual base pay, plus performance incentive bonus and equity

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, train, deploy, and manage a regional Medical Science Liaison team.
• Develop and execute regional field medical strategies and tactics aligned with clinical and business objectives.
• Coach and mentor MSLs, manage performance, support succession planning, and provide regular feedback.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with Medical Affairs, clinical, commercial, and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Analyze competitive activity, clinical positioning, market trends, and regional business needs within designated therapeutic areas.
• Monitor budgets, compliance, documentation, databases, field activities, and regional results.

Requirements

• Advanced medical science degree such as MD, PharmD, or PhD strongly preferred.
• Candidates without an advanced degree need at least 2 years of MSL team leadership experience in the therapeutic area and 8+ years of related experience.
• Leadership experience with direct reports is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of drug development and product life-cycle development.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with thought leaders and communicate scientific information clearly.
• Willingness to travel and ability to manage regional priorities efficiently.
