MBSE Systems Engineer (Space Systems)

Location: On site in Chantilly, Virginia

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 annually for the Virginia area

What you will do

• Model and simulate space systems, satellites, and ground segments in a digital engineering environment.
• Support the development and validation of requirements, Concepts of Operations, and architecture products.
• Perform threat assessments, impact analyses, engineering trades, and resilience-related studies.
• Develop and integrate simulation and analysis tools for enterprise space-system resilience activities.
• Present technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences and participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
• Coordinate with customers and systems engineering groups to resolve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in the space systems domain, including prior satellite systems experience.
• Experience with modeling and simulation, data analysis and summarization in Microsoft Excel, and technical documentation.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Ability to work on site in Chantilly, Virginia, with minimal travel and standard working hours.

Nice to have

• Object-oriented design and analysis experience.
• Experience with orbital analysis tools such as Ansys Systems Toolkit.
• Experience with resilience mission fundamentals, sensor modeling, or UML/SysML/UAF models.
• Experience in Agile development environments and familiarity with Intelligence Community or Department of Defense programs.
