Software Engineer Frontend – AI (AI)

Location: Portugal; primarily remote with occasional visits to the offices in Coimbra or Aveiro. A future office is planned in Porto.

What you will do

• Design and develop intuitive, scalable interfaces for creating, configuring, testing, deploying, and managing AI agents.
• Build reusable frontend components, interactive workflows, dashboards, and visualisations for customer-facing products.
• Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, asynchronous services, backend systems, and AI-generated outputs.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs that process, aggregate, and enrich structured and unstructured data.
• Support AI-powered features such as summaries, recommendations, trend identification, and anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, frontend and backend engineers, AI/ML engineers, data engineers, DevOps, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience with modern frontend applications.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript and experience with React or Angular.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser technologies, frontend architecture, component design, state management, performance, and maintainability.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, reusable components, component libraries or design systems, automated frontend testing, CI/CD, deployment, accessibility, security, and browser compatibility.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and Agile development skills.
