Engineering Manager, EMEA (Platform) (AI)

Location: 100% remote for candidates residing in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, or Estonia. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Lead the team responsible for the platform capabilities used to plan, run, and manage client testing.
• Design and deliver agentic workflows that can plan, execute, and adapt testing work.
• Set multi-quarter technical direction and own delivery from discovery through production in partnership with product management.
• Modernize legacy services, consolidate fragmented data models, and improve transactional integrity.
• Own production support, escalation management, root-cause analysis, reliability, observability, and performance improvements.
• Coach engineers, establish engineering standards, reduce knowledge silos, and introduce AI-assisted development workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing teams of 4+ engineers in agile, remote environments.
• Recent hands-on experience writing production code, designing systems, reviewing implementations, and making architectural decisions.
• Experience building LLM-powered or agentic production features, including orchestration, tool use, retrieval, or evaluation.
• Strong affinity with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React; experience designing and building APIs is essential.
• Experience with observability and APM tools, slow database transaction optimization, application security, and legacy modernization.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication; candidates must reside in one of the listed eligible countries.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL and Kafka.
• Prior experience managing a SaaS product.
