Materials Engineering Co-Op (Semiconductor Materials)

Location: Chaska, Minnesota, United States; onsite, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

What you will do

• Lead polymer development projects with engineering, manufacturing, product management, sales, marketing, and global supply management.
• Create materials solutions based on customer-defined product and application needs.
• Develop qualification plans and application success criteria.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, processing, and incoming quality teams with new and existing materials issues.
• Investigate material failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Document development work through data packages and material specifications.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Materials, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering.
• Available to work 40 hours per week from January through June 2027 and familiar with university co-op participation requirements.
• Experience or exposure to formulation and development of polymeric compounds.
• Analytical experience with chemical and polymer laboratory instrumentation and methodologies.
• Knowledge of polymer manufacturing and processing, including injection molding, rotomolding, blow molding, and extrusion.
• Must not require hirify.global immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience using structured design of experiments and statistical methods in an R&D environment.
• Understanding of root-cause and corrective-action processes and tools.
• Experience in a global R&D environment.
• Target graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
