TL;DR
Sr. Site Reliability Engineer - Digital Assets (SRE/Cloud): Improving the reliability, resilience, scalability, and operational health of production services with an accent on observability, automation, distributed systems, and infrastructure engineering. Focus on defining SLOs and error budgets, strengthening CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, reducing operational toil, and leading incident response across multiple services.

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid work model. Candidates must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $128,000–$156,000 USD per year in San Francisco, plus discretionary incentive plan and benefits.

What you will do

  • Improve the reliability, resilience, scalability, performance, and operational health of production services.
  • Apply software engineering, automation, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices across service development, deployment, operation, and recovery.
  • Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, logging, tracing, and other observability capabilities.
  • Identify systemic reliability risks and recurring production issues using data, experimentation, troubleshooting, and rigorous engineering analysis.
  • Partner with Software Engineering and technology teams to build reliability, recoverability, and operational readiness into systems throughout their lifecycle.
  • Lead or participate in incident response, service restoration, blameless post-incident learning, mentoring, and the development of reusable engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire.
  • Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience in Software Engineering, SRE, Systems Engineering, Cloud or Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with software development or scripting in one or more modern programming languages.
  • Experience with software engineering principles, distributed systems, production troubleshooting, automation, observability, public cloud technologies, infrastructure, networking, and Linux/Unix.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to operate independently across complex systems and ambiguous reliability problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Experience with highly available production software, CI/CD, containers or orchestration, monitoring, alerting, and software-delivery automation.
  • Experience with SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, performance and capacity analysis, resilience testing, disaster recovery, or operational readiness.
  • Experience creating reusable automation, tooling, platforms, patterns, or practices that improve engineering effectiveness.
