Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Onsite in Saltriver, Cape Town, South Africa. Applicants must be South African or eligible to work in South Africa and already hold or be able to obtain the required work permits or visas.

What you will do

• Own the cost accounting function, including costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
• Develop and maintain product cost models covering materials, labor, overhead absorption, yield, batch size, and manufacturing assumptions.
• Lead manufacturing cost and variance analysis and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.
• Provide costing and financial insight across product development, new product introduction, commercial production, and optimization.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets, scenario analyses, management reports, and FP&A reviews covering COGS, inventory, labor, overheads, and operational performance.
• Lead continuous improvement across costing, inventory, reporting, automation, Epicor optimization, and financial controls while supporting strategic finance projects.

Requirements

• CIMA or a similar qualification with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa and the required work permits or visas.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and deliver accurate work under deadline pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and business-partnering skills with the ability to influence cross-functional decisions.
• Ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insights.
