Communication & Events Manager (Quantum Computing)

Location: London, UK; hybrid. International travel is required to support major conferences and industry events.

What you will do

• Own the day-to-day execution of the global PR programme with external PR consultants and the Director of Marketing.
• Identify media opportunities, manage press calendars, coordinate approvals, and arrange interviews and speaking engagements.
• Create press materials, media pitches, briefing documents, and thought leadership content that explains complex quantum technologies.
• Plan and deliver the company’s presence at international conferences, exhibitions, and industry events.
• Manage stand design and build, suppliers, budgets, timelines, event operations, and international shipments of marketing and demonstration assets.
• Coordinate with commercial, engineering, product, and leadership teams to maximise event impact.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in communications, PR, media relations, and/or event management.
• Experience managing external PR agencies and media relationships.
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
• Curiosity about quantum computing, frontier technologies, or advanced science and confidence engaging with technical subject matter.
• Willingness to travel internationally for conferences and industry events.

Nice to have

• Experience with the UK technology media landscape, with EU or US technology media exposure.
• Experience in quantum computing, semiconductors, or deep-tech scale-ups.
• Experience delivering exhibition stands, trade shows, or large-scale industry events.
• Familiarity with international event logistics, supplier management, shipping, and customs.
• Experience in a high-growth company where adaptability and ownership are important.
