What you will do

  • Perform high-quality MRI and MRA examinations in accordance with department protocols and radiologist directions.
  • Screen patients for MRI safety risks and contraindications, monitor wellbeing during examinations, and report medical concerns appropriately.
  • Administer contrast safely, answer patient questions, and guide patients through examination procedures.
  • Assist with patient transfers between wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers, including positioning patients for imaging.
  • Maintain MRI scanner equipment, perform cleaning and infection-control duties, and complete exam-related data entry and clerical work.
  • Teach MRI practices to fellow technologists and participate in meetings and assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • At least three years of MRI Technologist experience in an active clinical environment, including complex MRI studies.
  • Current ARRT registered radiologic technologist certification and MRI certification.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move patients in wheelchairs or stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds.
  • Ability to work on-site in Irving, Texas, in a clinical environment with patient contact and potential exposure to blood, toxic substances, and ionizing radiation.
