DevOps Engineer 4 (AWS)

Location: On-site in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, United States. United States citizenship and an agency-appropriate security clearance, such as active TS/SCI with polygraph, are required.

Salary: $55.23–$128.52 per hour. The position is eligible for a $5,000 bonus, including a 20% SEP IRA contribution.

What you will do

• Design and evolve scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AWS architectures for event-driven services, data pipelines, and search solutions.
• Develop production Java Spring Boot and Python services for AWS Lambda and containerized Kubernetes workloads.
• Architect high-throughput, low-latency data and messaging solutions using DynamoDB, OpenSearch, SQS, and SNS.
• Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, alerting, and blue-green or canary deployments.
• Mentor 2–4 junior developers, conduct code reviews, lead architecture discussions, and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
• Maintain architectural diagrams, runbooks, knowledge-base articles, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph.
• United States citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent combined education and experience.
• 12 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with at least two of the listed technical skill areas, including Java/Spring Boot or Python, microservices, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, NoSQL, OAuth/OIDC, or test automation.
