Engineering Manager, Storage (AI Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; or Bellevue, WA

Salary: $182,000–$242,000 base salary per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering teams developing high-performance file, block, and object storage infrastructure.
• Drive end-to-end design and operational excellence for storage services built with Go and Rust.
• Scale storage performance by 10x to maximize GPU utilization across AI cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical mentorship, manage performance, and support technical recruitment and team growth.
• Align engineering execution with strategic business goals through cross-functional leadership.
• Lead teams in a coding-focused, meeting-light environment with high autonomy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on systems or infrastructure engineering experience and 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in storage performance tuning, latency optimization, benchmarking, and file, block, and object storage architectures.
• Experience with cloud storage and distributed systems, including Ceph, Lustre, MinIO, or GPUDirect Storage.
• Proficiency in systems programming with Go and Rust.
• Experience scaling storage engineering teams in hyperscale cloud environments and operating ultra-low-latency systems for HPC or AI infrastructure.
• Must meet U.S. export-control access requirements, including eligibility as a U.S. person or eligibility to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience pushing the boundaries of GPU optimization and next-generation distributed systems.
• Additional expertise in low-level systems programming and massive-scale AI infrastructure.
