Staff Engineer - Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Develop complex data transformations and production data models using dbt and SQL.
• Build and maintain incremental models, macros, Jinja workflows, snapshots, seeds, sources, and dbt packages.
• Implement dbt tests and data quality frameworks, including documentation and lineage.
• Work with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Use Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot for implementation, refactoring, test generation, and code review.
• Establish standards for AI-assisted development and evaluate the productivity, quality, security, and intellectual-property impact of AI tooling.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with dbt in production environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL and complex data transformation development.
• Strong understanding of dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud.
• Strong experience with at least one cloud data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Daily, fluent use of Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot, understanding of LLM fundamentals, and experience integrating AI into developer workflows and agentic or automation tooling.
