Automotive Technician

Location: Valdosta, United States; onsite retail automotive service role

Salary: $15.75–$23.67 per hour, with performance-based flat-rate compensation

What you will do

• Change oil and perform scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Inspect steering, suspension, and brake systems.
• Install batteries and parts and check electrical systems.
• Perform tire maintenance and repair services.
• Road-test vehicles and assist with vehicle assessments and repairs.
• Explain repair procedures to customers and answer service questions.

Requirements

• Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks and perform automotive maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of oil changes, inspections, and tire repair.
• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Obtain or maintain at least one A.S.E. certification from A1–A8 within the first two years of employment.
• Must complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Two years of automotive repair experience.
• Vocational-technical education in a related field or demonstrated skills through certificates or assessments.
• A.S.E. certification or equivalent training credentials.
