What you will do

• Lead qualification of alternate raw materials, ingredients, and components through technical evaluation and vendor documentation review.
• Execute compliance-, supply-, and optimization-driven reformulations while maintaining nutritional accuracy and manufacturability.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, QA, PD Engineering, NPD formulators, and Strategic Sourcing to resolve technical issues and support tech transfers.
• Develop and maintain ingredient, component, and finished-product specifications.
• Manage change submissions, document revisions, approval workflows, and traceability in PLM and related systems.
• Improve qualification processes, documentation workflows, communication, and product development databases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in dietary supplements or a related field.
• Knowledge of nutraceutical ingredients, their uses, forms, activities, and relevant characteristics.
• Ability to interpret standard operating procedures and regulations, analyze complex problems, and work cross-functionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of food and supplement regulations, including DSHEA, the FD&C Act, and 21 CFR 111.
• Experience reviewing scientific literature related to ingredient or product efficacy and safety.
