State and Local Tax - Income Franchise Intern - Summer 2027

Location: San Francisco; travel to assigned client locations is required

Compensation: $38–$45 per hour

What you will do

• Integrate state and local tax services with existing client engagements.
• Complete tax planning and research assignments.
• Learn and apply state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
• Review client tax processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to reduce tax exposure.
• Work with client information technology personnel to obtain and analyze historical purchasing and sales data for reporting, audits, refunds, and credits.
• Help evaluate sales/use tax software and support implementation activities.

Requirements

• At least 90 completed credit hours.
• Currently pursuing a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree at an accredited university.
• Accounting major.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange reliable transportation.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, and the ability to work effectively in a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
