Manufacturing Software Engineer (LabVIEW)

Location: Bedford, MA, United States; less than 10% travel

What you will do

• Develop, document, sustain, and improve manufacturing test software, equipment, and procedures for encoder, interpolator, analog, and digital positioning systems.
• Build scalable test strategy roadmaps and implement process improvements that increase production quality and throughput.
• Capture and analyze test failure data using LabVIEW, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and Minitab, then implement corrective actions and countermeasures.
• Participate in Stage Gate, DFM, ECO, and model-build activities to transfer validated requirements, software, and customer-specific methods into manufacturing.
• Evaluate PWBA designs and production test strategies, perform product and return failure analysis, and recommend manufacturability improvements.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives, ISO 9000 and ISO 13485 documentation, personnel training, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and sustaining production equipment.
• Experience programming with LabVIEW and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of digital and analog hardware.
• Experience with source control systems such as SVN.
• Ability to work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and written or verbal instructions; light work may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with Verilog or VHDL, Python, C#, or embedded C.
• Altium electrical capture and layout experience.
• Lean manufacturing, statistical process control, or ERP experience, including Oracle.
• Mechanical aptitude and precision assembly skills.
