Software Engineer (Manufacturing Systems)

Base pay for Washington applicants: $164,652–$230,512.80 per year. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Develop C++ software for 2D/3D path and geometry generation driving machine motion and target part production.
• Design, build, and integrate custom machine motion-control systems, including electromechanical components, wiring, and software control.
• Develop machine-level and facility-level manufacturing software for real-time motion, sensing, actuation, workflow orchestration, and data routing.
• Architect embedded software for deterministic data acquisition and control hardware.
• Build automated data integrations and workflows for manufacturing engineers, design engineers, and facility operators.
• Own technical architecture and roadmap improvements, close manufacturing data gaps, conduct reviews, and maintain testing and CI/CD practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of industry experience developing C++ software.
• Systems-level ability to connect mechanical and electrical hardware design with software architecture.
• Strong collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary, multi-developer environment.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.
• Employment is associated with the Greater Seattle Area.

Nice to have

• Experience with toolpath, trajectory, geometry, or slicing generation.
• Experience in aerospace, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or metal additive manufacturing.
• Experience building custom machines from concept through commissioning and integrating motion-control hardware.
• Experience with PLCs, NI hardware, data acquisition, control systems, CAD/CAM integration, Python, or LabVIEW.
• Experience integrating AI or LLMs into engineering workflows.
