TL;DR
Physical Therapist I (Pediatric Rehabilitation): Providing evidence-based physical therapy and direct patient care for infants, children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings with an accent on functional restoration, pain reduction, disability prevention, and assistive devices. Focus on conducting clinical assessments, designing supervised rehabilitative interventions, and coordinating orthotic, prosthetic, and supportive care for patients with complex illnesses.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Part-time onsite role providing direct patient care four days per week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $70,720–$126,880 per year.

What you will do

  • Conduct assessments and treat physical function disorders within the Rehabilitation Services department.
  • Provide preventive, habilitative, rehabilitative, adaptive, and palliative care under supervision in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
  • Assess needs for orthotic, prosthetic, and assistive devices and oversee measuring and fitting processes.
  • Document care, operate relevant testing equipment, and communicate with clinical and research staff.
  • Counsel patients and caregivers about diagnoses, prognoses, and plans of care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Tennessee Board of Examiners, Division of Health Related Boards is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification is required.
  • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association is required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required for the scheduled four-day patient-care schedule.

Nice to have

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
  • At least one year of pediatric experience.
