Head of Engineering, Supply Chain (Java)

What you will do

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory, logistics, repair, and maintenance software.
• Lead an engineering organisation of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering.
• Platformise supply chain systems so operational data remains visible, trustworthy, and consistent across millions of POS terminals.
• Define architecture standards, engineering processes, quality metrics, reliability practices, and data integrity controls.
• Translate operational requirements into disciplined engineering solutions with business and operational stakeholders.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers as the organisation grows beyond 30 members.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
• At least 5 years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code.
• At least 5 years of experience managing managers and leading organisations through other engineering leaders.
• Deep hands-on experience with supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics software at scale.
• Strong backend engineering, large-scale system design, distributed systems, and data-intensive operational systems experience.
• Experience in fintech or another regulated industry, managing engineering teams of 20 or more, and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.
