What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated backend and frontend data pipelines for the How’s Life? well-being database and Better Life Index.
- Manage quarterly data updates and coordinate data collection with national statistical offices and the Committee on Statistics and Statistical Policy.
- Maintain and develop the Well-being Data Monitor, including frontend design, Data Explorer integration, and accessible data visualizations.
- Analyze well-being outcomes using econometric models and microdata across economic, social, and environmental domains.
- Draft statistical and policy publications, present findings to governments and international partners, and manage publication projects.
- Provide training and technical guidance on data science, automation, visualization, and AI-assisted workflows.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least four years of relevant experience in applied policy research and/or data science.
- Experience with econometric analysis, microdata, scalable data infrastructure, and automated workflows.
- Strong proficiency in R or similar statistical programming languages; experience with Git and familiarity with JavaScript and data visualization tools.
- Strong English drafting skills and demonstrated experience in applied policy research.
- Fluency in English or French, with knowledge of or willingness to learn the other official language.
Nice to have
- Subject matter expertise in well-being-related topics.
- Experience with AI-assisted data analysis and automation tools, including large language models.
