Senior Software Engineer (Data)

Location: Hamburg or Berlin, Germany

Salary: EUR 70–85 yearly

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and drive the transition to a modern data platform based on Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and BigQuery.
• Develop custom tooling for monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost control, testing, CI/CD, and data cataloging.
• Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most fundamental ELT pipelines.
• Own critical reports supporting executive board decisions and data teams across departments.
• Improve the efficiency and reliability of data engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in data engineering or software engineering with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including CI/CD, testing, best practices, and design patterns applied to data engineering.
• Expert-level Python and SQL skills.
• Knowledge of Docker and infrastructure tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Fluent English communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
