TL;DR
Senior AI Software Engineer (Fintech): Building an investor-facing application that combines real-time market data, news ingestion, and GenAI-driven analysis across a Python/FastAPI backend, Angular frontend, and AWS infrastructure with an accent on practical R&D, measurable AI impact, and reliable financial data pipelines. Focus on making architectural decisions between LLMs, ML models, and heuristics, evaluating prompt quality, and leading end-to-end features from prototype to production.
Location: Remote within Germany, with access to offices in Karlsruhe, Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg and in-person meetings in Karlsruhe several times a year. Up to 15 days of workation within the EU per calendar year.

What you will do
- Drive practical GenAI research and development initiatives focused on real-world use cases and measurable impact.
- Build and ship full-stack features across Python, FastAPI, Angular, and AWS from prototype through production.
- Manage data pipelines for financial signals, market data, and news ingestion.
- Make architectural decisions about when to use LLMs, ML models, or simpler heuristics.
- Improve prompt-quality evaluation, structured logging, system health, performance, and reliability.
- Lead architecture discussions and guide engineers through code reviews and system design.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript with 5+ years of experience shipping production software.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, ideally AWS.
- Practical use of GenAI tools to improve development workflows and deliver measurable impact.
- Strong interest in finance, markets, or investing, with willingness to build domain expertise.
- Strong communication, ownership, initiative, independence, and ability to carry work from problem to solution.
Nice to have
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Angular.
- Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK.
